Hari Tabak
Monachus Yachts is a Croatian shipyard located near the city of Split on the Adriatic coast. The brand was founded in 2006 and has since specialized in designing and building motor yachts based on respect for maritime tradition and a commitment to modern comfort.

The name Monachus comes from the Latin word for the Mediterranean monk seal — a symbol of a “man of the sea,” representing grace, confidence, and harmony in movement across the water.

The brand’s founder, Hari Tabak, began his journey in boatbuilding with sailboats, which eventually evolved into a vision of a well-balanced, reliable, and aesthetically refined motor yacht — with soft lines, a low silhouette, and excellent handling.

Design concept and philosophy
Monachus does not simply produce boats — they create a distinctive lifestyle where elegance, comfort, and the sea come together. Their design philosophy focuses on three key aspects:
  • Hydrodynamics and stability.
The hull shape, keel geometry, low center of gravity, and weight distribution are engineered for optimal stability, smooth navigation, and safety at both planning and displacement speeds.
  • Quality of materials and construction.
The shipyard uses advanced composites, fiberglass, carbon fiber, wood, and stainless steel to ensure strength, durability, and lightweight performance. Modern technologies such as vacuum infusion and resin post-curing are standard.
  • Customization and individual approach.
Monachus does not build mass-produced boats — each project is tailored to the owner’s preferences. Interior layout, materials, finishes, and equipment can all be customized.
